Распространение Северная Африка, Юго-Западная Азия до Северо-Западного Пакистана и Белуджистана, а также республики Средней Азии и Южный Казахстан. В пустыне Кызылкум встречается повсеместно до широты Кзыл-Орды. Найден на правом берегу Сырдарьи в горах Бельтау
Места обитания Закрепленные и полузакрепленные пески, глинистая пустыня, предгорья, долины рек. Наиболее сохранившиеся места обитания - песчаные пустыни.
