А в лесу с каждым днем все меньше вкусных жуков, аппетитных личинок, слизней, пауков. В октябре они все уже забрались в разные укрытия, зарылись в лесную подстилку.
Поползни, питающиеся летом насекомыми с лиственных деревьев, осенью, с удвоенным усердием обыскивают сейчас и хвойные, и кусты, и траву, и лесную подстилку, пока снег не спрятал её до весны. Но едят и семена, и плоды, которые собирают даже на снегу.
