Время от времени самцы серой жабы (Bufo bufo) вдруг в массе бросаются на одну самку. Вокруг неё образуется растущий комок из амфибий, т.к. со всего водоёма подтягиваются всё новые любвеобильные особи. Нередко в таких условиях самка гибнет от давки или нехватки кислорода.
