Дата первого упоминания в летописных книгах примерно 1700 г.
Именно здесь уходя от гонений Православной Церкви,
староверы нашли свой приют, дав жизнь деревушке,
с исконно русским названием Вербежичи, раскинувшейся
на берегу небольшой речки Болвы, впадающей в Десну.
