The Woodchuck is the largest Sciurid in Quebec. Unlike squirrels and chipmunks, they are strictly terrestrial and rarely climb trees. Adult, the marmot's marmots weigh between 3 and 6 kg and have a yellowish-brown coat. In Quebec, its range south of Ungava Bay, with the exception of Anticosti Island and a few other St. Lawrence islands. It frequents sparsely wooded or open herbaceous environments including farmland.
